Century Tower, built in 1930, was once a prominent shape in the Chicago skyline. Since then it has become home to many downtown dwellers. Originally built as a bank in the '30s, it has gone through several incarnations without losing its distinctive charm. You can still find the name of the bank carved into the ground at the Lake street entrance. Once playing host to a speakeasy, foreign consulates and radio stations, Century Tower is now one of Chicago's most sought after condo buildings. It was once known as the Skyline Century of Progress and its previous address was 201 N. Wells.
As you make your grand entrance into the building, you'll find a beautifully restored lobby area. The red marble is from an ancient Roman quarry in the city of Oran, Algeria. Past the 24 hour door staff you'll find a decorative bank of new elevators ready to take you home. Each extra-wide hallway has new light fixtures, carpet and marble. Enjoy the urban views, tall ceilings, large windows in your spacious unit!
